About me:
My life-long interest in the mechanics of voice, vocal production and accents led me to a degree Linguistics and English Language and subsequently a career as an English teacher.
I quickly became aware of the impact my voice could have on a bunch of unruly scholars. A whole group of teenage, literature-hating scoundrels could be lulled quickly when I started to read. They would become immersed in the world created by the greatest (and some not so great) writers. They would beg for me to 'do the voices' and make the words come to life and pretty soon, I had developed a reputation with colleagues asking me for performances in the staffroom.
I love to bring language to life and to use my voice effectively to do this. Over the years I have honed my skills of story-telling, persuasion and engagement, commanding rooms with a few well-chosen phrases, built confidence and excitement. I have used my voice to be calming and reassuring, often in tense situations. All of this, along with training courses, vocal coaches and practise, allows me to deliver excellence to you, every time.
Why Len?
I have a real passion for the spoken word and voices, the link between writing and perception, suggestion and desire.
For as long as I can remember, I have been involved with music and singing, learning more about the voice in acapella groups and using this musicality and ear for subtle tones to help my VO skills.
I have a clear, bright and trustworthy voice which engages the listener. I have a northern British tone and accent having grown up in the North West and now residing in Yorkshire.
Through my studies and travel over the world, I have perfected a number of accents and love to use these skills to my advantage, developing unique characters and memorable dialogue.
I would love to hear from you if you have any questions or would like to know about booking my voice. Just drop me an email and I'll get back to you quickly.
